While I don’t endorse all of the speakers at Passion 2013, I do like me some John Piper (and Francis Chan). In his first speaking engagement since retiring from his senior pastor position at Bethlehem Baptist, John brought a great message last night at Passion 2013 from Hebrews 10, 11, and 12. He preached on a “pattern of power to embrace suffering in the path of love for the cause of liberation”. His three main points from the text for this pattern are:
- Deep soul satisfaction in the promise of a Christ filled future
- Freedom from self-protecting fear
- Fruit of fearless love no matter the cost
